Amara Kumudunie Hettiarachchi is an experienced educator and school leader with over 40 years of service spanning classroom teaching, teacher mentoring, school administration, and education management in Sri Lanka.

She began her career as a trained teacher of English, teaching students from Grade 1 through Grade 13 across 18 years, before moving into an advisory role as an In-Service Adviser of English, where she spent three years training and mentoring English teachers. She subsequently served as a Graded Principal for 13 years, overseeing school administration and management, followed by two years as a Director of Education. She currently serves as Principal of a reputed international school, a role she has held for five years.

Hettiarachchi holds a Master of Arts in Linguistics in English and a Bachelor of Education (English Medium), complemented by a Diploma in School Management and a Diploma in the International Computer Driving Licence. Her academic foundation, combined with her breadth of classroom, advisory, and administrative experience, gives her a comprehensive understanding of the Sri Lankan education landscape at every level.

Her particular expertise lies in English language education, teacher development, and school leadership, areas she continues to champion as Consultant at Polymath Education.
